Pick up a Dr. Nelson pic-on-a-stick at your next Orthodontic appointment and take him with you on your summer vacation. Snap a photo with Dr. Nelson's smiling face in it and email it to us at info@trinityorthodontics.com.

Winners receive a $50 gift card per each category, per office. Categories include; furthest away, funniest, and most creative photo. Ask a Trinity team member for full details!

Deadline to get photos in is Monday, August 21st for hard (printed out) copies, or Monday August 28th for photos that are emailed.

It was brought to my attention by a colleague that they thought I did not want to see children because I did not do phase 1 treatment on a regular basis. This could not be farther from the truth!! 

I have always believed seeing kids at age 7 is an ideal time. This is also the age recommended by the American Association of Orthodontists, AAO. At this age the permanent first molars should be erupted and some of the anterior teeth. This starts to give doctors an idea about the future bite of the patient. This is a good time to start looking for tooth eruption problems, especially the maxillary permanent canines.

Permanent damage (excessive wear) of the teeth is also something I watch for. Typically this is due to excessive overlapping of the upper and lower front teeth causing wearing of the incisal edges of the mandibular incisors.
