You, your siblings and your friends are invited. The doors open at 10:30 a.m. and the first 500 people receive a free Forever Smiles hoodie, so come early! The movie starts at 11:30 a.m.

The theatre is located at 555 Lakeview Parkway in Vernon Hills. RSVP by calling (847) 215-7554, or emailing

These 18-year-olds graduated from high school in 2015 and competed in September at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart, Germany. Team USA was one of 10 countries to secure a spot. Read complete details of their win on our blog.

Be Careful What You Eat This Halloween

Be Careful What You Eat This Halloween

It’s that time of year when you’re faced with all varieties of candies and treats packaged in fun sizes and Halloween colors. For us, it’s the time of year when we see an increase in emergency office visits to repair loose brackets and broken arch wires that have fallen victim to sticky, chewy and hard candies.

This Halloween, please remember to go for soft candies and treats, such as chocolate, peanut butter cups and home-baked cookies. Apples and other crunchy fruits and vegetables also are great snacks, provided you cut them into bite-sized pieces.

We recommend that you avoid sticky candies such as taffy, caramel and gummies. These are notorious for slipping between arch wires and teeth, and causing brackets to become loose or fall off.

And remember: brush your teeth after indulging in sweet treats this Halloween. Just like broken or loose appliances, a cavity can set your treatment back. You want to get your braces off on time, right?

We hope you have a safe and happy Halloween!

Evaluation by Age 7

Evaluation by Age 7

Just as the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children see a pediatric dentist no later than their first birthday in an effort to prevent dental problems, the American Association of Orthodontists recommends every child see an orthodontist at age 7 to prevent orthodontic difficulties.

Evaluation at age 7 doesn’t always mean treatment is needed at this stage. But in cases where it is recommended, interceptive treatment increases a child’s chances of avoiding surgeries, extraction of permanent healthy teeth in the future, and preventing or correcting habits that cause a bad bite.

For patients who do not require treatment, Dr. Razdolsky places them in our complimentary growth and development program. These patients visit us about every six months so we can monitor the eruption of their permanent teeth.

When the time is right for the child, Dr. Razdolsky will recommend treatment. Every child is different and everyone develops differently, so every child’s ideal time to begin treatment is different.

Please tell your friends and family members about the importance of evaluation by age 7.
