“The Smile Team” was released this year through Forever Smiles Publishing.

The book is about a young girl who wants to perform with her mom during a surprise party she’s throwing for her older brother. Mom doesn’t want to do the performance because she doesn’t like her smile and doesn’t like to do anything that draws attention to it.

After a trip to the dentist, Mom has a choice to make: Will she take a fast and easy approach to a more beautiful smile, or will she opt for a solution that will take longer to achieve, but will keep her teeth and gums healthy for years to come?

“The Smile Team” shows how teamwork solves problems, and promotes the idea that sometimes the best results are worth the wait.

Anna wrote the book because she has witnessed first-hand the effects of good and bad oral health on self-esteem and self-confidence. The book’s inspiration came from dozens of conversations Anna has had with adult patients, parents and friends through the years.

“The Smile Team” is just the beginning for Anna. She’s already working on her second book, and she founded Forever Smiles Publishing because she hopes to write many more.

We’re excited to make “The Smile Team” presented to students we speak with at local schools, clubs, and to children’s groups that visit our office during fieldtrips. 

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month, and that makes it a good time for us to remind parents of our educational fieldtrips.

These fieldtrips are an opportunity we extend to all area schools, religious groups and civic organizations. We love to learn about area organizations and clubs, and we appreciate opportunities to tell groups about our practice and types of orthodontic treatment, as well.

During these fieldtrips, we introduce youth to the dental and orthodontic professions. We also teach them about tooth straightening techniques, the importance of oral hygiene, and how modern technology is integrated into the dental and medical fields.

Our field trips are appropriate for children ages 7 to 13. Please call our office today if you would like to learn more about our fieldtrips or wish to schedule one for your group

The Illinois State Dental Society is conducting its 24^th Annual Coloring Contest to celebrate National Children's Dental Health Month, and we’re jumping on the bandwagon by offering a contest of our own!

You can participate in both contests—just download two coloring sheets here.

Coloring sheets for the ISDS contest must be mailed to them by Feb. 28, 2016. First, second and third prizes will be awarded in each grade category. Rules and mailing instructions are included in the download.

Patients ages 6-12 can participate in the Forever Smiles coloring contest by downloading the coloring sheet, decorating it and returning it to our office. You can mail your coloring sheet, or scan and email it to: [email protected]. The deadline is March 15. Sheets also can be colored while you’re at our office.

All participants will be rewarded with their choice of Dippin’ Dots or five tokens. One overall winner will receive two movie passes.

Roman Vaskanich joined the Forever Smiles team in September 2015 as our scheduling coordinator. He enjoys getting to meet our patients, as well as working with Dr. Razdolsky, because there is so much to learn from him.

Roman graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2015 with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts and sciences (psychology).

He was born in Ukraine, and he speaks Russian.

In his spare time, Roman likes to work on motors, cars and motorcycles. He also enjoys watching movies, hanging out with friends, snowboarding and motorsports.
