Participate in Our Oral Cancer Awareness Contest

Participate in Our Oral Cancer Awareness Contest

You’ve probably heard us talk about our upcoming participation in the 4th Annual Oral Cancer Foundation Walk/Run for Awareness on Sunday, May 31, 2015. We still would love for you to join our team of runners and walkers participating this month!

You also can support this important cause by making a charitable donation. Register to participate, or donate here.

The 5K will be held at Redmond Park, 735 E. Jefferson St., in Bensenville.

We also have another fun way you can get involved. We’ve placed a jar filled with candy and burgundy oral cancer awareness bracelets in our reception area. We want you to guess how many bracelets are in it. The person who guesses correctly will win the contents. We hope you’ll share those bracelets to help spread this important message. Good luck!

While you’re guessing, be sure to grab an oral cancer pin at the front desk to wear or give to your friends.

Summer Reading Program

Summer Reading Program

School will be out before you know it, and we want to make sure you continue to read throughout the summer. That’s why we’re hosting a Summer Reading Program. We will have a bookshelf filled with books in our office. We want you to choose a book and read it! If you love the book, keep it. Otherwise, bring it back and select another. We will give you three tokens for every book you read. You can collect tokens all summer long and cash them in for fun gifts, such as movie passes.

Maggiano’s Orthodontic Seminar A Success

Maggiano’s Orthodontic Seminar A Success

Dr. Razdolsky had the pleasure of hosting dentists, dental hygienists and their staff at Maggiano’s once again this year, and the event was well-attended. Dr. Razdolsky spoke about orthodontic and dental solutions to Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

This event is free to greater Chicago area dental professionals, and it gives them an opportunity to earn continuing education credits, which are required to maintain various certifications. We look forward to doing this once again next year.

Mail-Order Braces - No Match for Personal Orthodontic Trea

Mail-Order Braces - No Match for Personal Orthodontic Trea

An emerging mail-order orthodontic treatment trend appeared in national media headlines recently. We agree that orthodontic technology has advanced treatment over the years, but has this latest development gone too far?

These mail-order systems resemble Invisalign treatment, but they don’t provide the same level of face-to-face interaction with your orthodontist.

It is important to remember that orthodontics is not a commodity; not a product on a shelf. It is an exact science based on solid knowledge of biology of tooth movement, growth and development. Unsupervised tooth movement can lead to tooth loss and jaw problems.

We have researched the two companies offering mail-order orthodontic treatment, and it appears a key diagnostic tool is missing from the treatment process: digital X-rays.

We do not start a single patient in our office without 3D X-rays. Dr. Yan Razdolsky has mentioned in previous blog posts how valuable our office’s i-CAT 3-D cone beam digital imaging system has been in treatment.  The 3-D images provide such clarity and quality that he has identified countless long-term health risks in patients that not only weren’t visible with the naked eye, they wouldn’t have appeared in traditional X-ray images, either.

There is no need to risk treatment quality. Excellent orthodontic treatment methods are available for patients who want to minimize their time in braces and in an orthodontist’s treatment chair, and we offer them here.

If you or a loved one is considering orthodontic treatment and you want to achieve ideal results, please call our office today to schedule a consultation. We believe there is no substitute for face-to-face treatment.

We have much more to say on the mail-order braces topic. Please visit our blog for more information.
