Artishock Exhibit Debuts March 24

Artishock Exhibit Debuts March 24

We’ve shared information about the Art Studio “Artishock” fieldtrip for months, and now the time is almost here for you to see the artwork created by these talented students.

The exhibit called “What makes you smile, Crocodile?” debuts March 24 in our office and will remain on display through May 15.

Now we need your help identifying the best works of art in the exhibit.  Voting begins March 25 and ends May 15. You can cast your vote several ways.

  • Vote in person at our office
  • Cast your vote via our Facebook page. We will post photos of all the artwork, and you can like your favorite
  • Like your favorite photo on our Instagram account: foreversmilesbg. We will tag all photos with #ArtishockExhibit. Give a double-tap to your favorite.

Votes will be counted and winners will be announced in May. The artists whose work earns the most votes will win one of the following prizes:

  • First place- a scholarship to cover one semester of classes at Artishock, and art supplies
  • Second place- a scholarship for one semester of classes
  • Third place- art supplies

Join Us in the Oral Cancer Foundation’s Walk/Run for Awarene

Join Us in the Oral Cancer Foundation’s Walk/Run for Awarene

We’re excited to be a sponsor in the 4th annual Oral Cancer Foundation Walk/Run for Awareness on Sunday, May 31, 2015, and we want our patients to join our team that is participating.

Please register as a member of our team today. You also can help us reach our fundraising goal by making a charitable donation. Register and donate here.

The 5K will be held at Redmond Park, 735 E. Jefferson St., in Bensenville.

You may remember that eight members of the Forever Smiles team participated in the Oral Cancer Foundation’s Walk/Run for Awareness last fall.

We plan to focus more effort on raising oral cancer awareness in 2015 for two reasons:

1. Dentists and orthodontists are on the frontline of identifying oral cancer.

You see your general dentist at least twice a year for routine cleanings and checkups. Those who are in orthodontic treatment see us every four to six weeks. That means we’re in unique positions to detect cancer early.

2. Survival rates haven’t significantly improved over the years.

Although oral cancer isn’t among the deadliest cancers, nearly half of all people diagnosed with it don’t live beyond five years following their diagnosis. This is because by the time these cancers are identified, they typically have reached advanced stages.

Some oral cancers respond better to the treatments available today, and that has resulted in a slight improvement in the survival rate over the past decade. We want to see more oral cancers discovered and treated early, and we’re doing our part to make that happen.

If you would like to learn more about oral cancer signs, symptoms and risk factors, we invite you to visit The Oral Cancer Foundation’s website.

Dr. Razdolsky and Anna Attend SureSmile Event

We say it all the time: Dr. Razdolsky is a life-long learner. He attends numerous conventions and seminars annually to stay abreast of the latest technologies so he can continue to provide innovative, high-quality treatment that best addresses each and every patient’s unique orthodontic needs.

In February, Dr. Razdolsky and Anna attended the 2015 SureSmile Doctor Symposium in Curacao.

Suresmile technology is used in our office as a navigation tool to help us achieve accurate results in less time. A common question patients ask prior to orthodontic treatment is how long they will have to wear their orthodontic appliances. The average used to be two to three years. Dr. Razdolsky uses SureSmile to reduce treatment time by three to six months in many cases.

Annual Orthodontic Seminar in April

We look forward to seeing dentists and their staff from throughout the greater Chicago area when we host our annual seminar. This year’s topic is Orthodontic/Dental Solutions to Obstructive Sleep Apnea.

Dr. Razdolsky hosts this free annual event as an educational opportunity for about 150 general dentists and dental hygienists. The event is in its 15th year.
